This stamp is a scott 577 Schermack Type III private perforation. These stamps were printed imperforated and then the Schermack company applied the rectangular holes. The Schermack company produced affixing machines for mass mailings. The 577 Tyoe III is a pretty common stamp. The strip of 4 is worth very little (probably catalog of about $10). I don't have my catalog with me or I would give exact value.

Scv on them is $1.25 each used, Russ is right on the money, probably worth about $10 being a strip of 4. Neat item tho!

One thing to note is that singles and pairs are very common but used multiples of 4 of more are much rarer.
