Hi tomcatpl, welcome !
Do not forget that the cancellation on the stamp (if used) and the stamps condition (gum if any, color, rips, tears, thins, creases, holes, missing perforations peaks around the edges, centering of design, make a difference in the value of it. Catalogs show prices for a really nice copy of a stamp if you were to go out and buy one from a stamp store.
Sometimes the biggest value you can have from stamps is the enjoyment you get from learning and sharing and figuring them out. Oh, and if you had
inherited them from someone and they had sentimental value.
Stamp collecting /
pjilately philately (study of stamps) is a great hobby.
