Hello there. I've posted similar topics before, upon my start on this forum. There I showed a few US-covers, and I'd just like to show a few more :)

This first one says State of Washington, Senate Chamber, T.P Fisk, Secretary. With a letter in Swedish inside :)

This second one I thought looked nice with some colours and different stamps. Is there any reason for the 1 cent stamp to be rotated 90 degrees other than to obscure as little text as possible?

This one also has a stamp rotated 90 degrees.. I also thought the CDS was beautiful.

This is an yellow envelope.

It's from 1876, quite old compared to most of the other covers I've got I think.. What does the CDS say on the backside? PKXPN means?
Is that orange CDS(?) common?

This last envelope is completely orange!

If there is any unusual stamps or CDS or cancels, etc, please tell me. I have no catalogs, yet. Let me know if you need a better picture for a better look.

Thanks, hope you enjoyed them :)

Very nice covers! Especially the registered cover with the 10 cent Trans-Mississippi stamp. All the covers are better than average in my opinion.

The second image has "T" for postage due?
A great Registration label on the 3rd image
and a curious violet "D" aux marking with numerals
Very nice material indeed.
I don't think there is any reason for
stamps gummed at odd angles on your covers.
Probably just haste.

Very nice. The registered cover is very nice. The 10 cent Trans- Mississippi is difficult to find on registered covers.

Rod222, I have no idea what that T stands for. Might just be for T.P Fisk, as on the backside "T.P"?

Are registered covers more scarce?

I think you will find "T" indicates the cover is underpaid,
but I am on shaky ground,
I am not a US or Swedish collector of markings.

Registered Covers?
A bit like a menu at a Restaurant,
depends how your taste runs :)

I love Registered covers, but not all do.

I would hazard a guess a Swedish Collector would
love to look over this stuff. Has lots of curiosities.

Registered covers tend to have more things going on. There's the label, extra postmarks/handstamps and usually higher face value stamps.

Okay I understand. Thanks.

I'm going to join a local stamp-society with my father, and see if it's anything for us. I guess I will reduce the average age with 400% ;)

Noone knows what "PKXPN" stands for? Just out of curiousity.

That's part of the backstamp, so Swedish specialists
will be your best bet there.

Joining a stamp club! Great!

Here is an example of "T" = "Taxe" = Postage due

(was 110 centimes due or short, it was paid by three "postage due stamps" stamps
named segnatasse

The initials P.K.X.P. (Postkupéexpeditioner) indicate Travelling Post Office (literally: Forwarding Mail Van). The last N stand for Number.
