Yes Otto, it's grilled. That's what makes it a 99 rather then a 70 or 78. I have a 78b, still looking for a 70 and 99. |

the stamp is 24¢ Washington of 1868 there were only about 200,000 printed (hence it's normally high price tag) The treaty rate for mail bound to England from Feb. 1849 to Jan. 1868 was 24¢ |

The color is a nice, deep Lilac... to the point that I don't know if I like it on a F Grill, also the perfs look a bit too clean for an F Grill.
F grills tend to show really ragged perf holes. |
