Here are a few of my favorite US Special Delivery covers, anyone have any more?

E7 on a Hamburg Amerika cover.

My "busiest" Special Delivery cover:

...and proof that there was a time when the USPS actually delivered TOO fast!
(aka Don't try to tell the special delivery guy when to deliver.)

Oh, we have the air conditioning cranked (sadly, this is already true, winter ends much too early here!), so it should be safe. But I appreciate the offer! ;)

Great covers. I especially liked the flag of Hamburg Amerika Linie, it really adds something extra to the cover.

I collect covers relating to the German ship SS Bremen. Here's a nice Special Delivery cover. Clearly it just HAD to make the ship!

Just as a piece of historical info., the first cover shown is addressed to a Mrs. Horace A. Loomis, Hubbard House, Northampton, MA.

Hubbard House is a part of Smith College in that community. A further internet search reveals that Mrs. Horace Arthur Loomis was an 1896 graduate of that college under her maiden name Emily Julia Betts:

Quote:
Betts Emily Julia B.l. (Mrs Horace Arthur Loomis)
1263 Pacific st. Brooklyn N. Y. m. 3 F 04 (husband d. 30 Je 08)

And her wedding was announced in the Brooklyn Blue Book and Long Island Society Register:

Quote:
Loomis-Betts: Miss Emily J. Betts, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward
Richmond Betts, to Mr. Horace A. Loomis; Church of the
Saviour, Feb. 3, 1904.

Sadly, it appears as though her husband died 4 years after their marriage.

Jaxstamper and jubilee, nice SD covers. Always like the E7 but the 1916 notice of delivery failure is great!
