Looking to ID the precancel type shown here. The samples I've looked at for that town don't seem to match the typeface. Could this be an L-Type? If so, which one?

Now I'm confused.

This is the illustration of a Type 459. I passed over this example, as it looks to have serifs versus the actual stamp which appears not to have them. Am I missing something?

Definitely 459! You have to remember that these are rubber stamps and the example shown in the book was probably one that wore down with age and a bit spread out - especially the lines. As note 1 says: Rubber handstamps are subject to variation due to application pressure and age.
