I want to obtain this but I would like your opinion of what the approx retail value is. The asking price is $256.00 (U.S.D.)

I think it is a 26 rather than a 26A. If you look at the frame line on the left of each stamp it appears to be continuous.

I'll defer to the experts as I have one of these 3c Washingtons that I'm currently trying to determine its type.

I can't help with retail value but a VF block of 4 unused of the 26 catalogs at $375 in the 2011 U.S. Specialized -- an unused block of 4 of the 26A is listed at $5,000.

Before you commit to buying you should press the seller for a better image, front and back. The stamps are from the top row of the plate and can fool you. There are some things that make me think they are 26A and some things say 26, a better image should help. There is no sense in talking about market value until you get the identity correct and a much better idea of condition.

I am looking at the same thing as Tomisek, the lines appear very straight (a bad sign) and continuous.

Thank you but I think I'll err on the side of caution and pass it up. If I want a "high dollar" issue I'll probably consult Seal or another seller on here. I trust their judgment plus I'm studying up on my "stamp-ology" LOL.

Sinclair2010,

As long as you mention it, would you mind taking a look at these images and letting me know what you think?

Tomisek, your stamp is a #26. The framelines are perfectly straight which is not at all typical of the type IV stamps. A while ago Banetr said there is not a single #26A that has a frameline touching the lower left diamond block, I trust that is correct and that also disqualifies your stamp. Due to the manner the type IV framelines were recut I doubt you would find very many that has a frameline touching any of the four diamond blocks.
