Another option is to use a "Monarch" size envelope 9 x 3 3/4. It gives you more space for large stamps, multiples or large cancels, and your cachet. They are easier to store than a #10 and they fit inside a #10 for shipping.
You can also get more ideas from the AFDC society.

Drcito, thank you for the suggestions. I will look for those envelopes next time I'm at the office supply store.

Knowing that you're interested in Mark Twain FDOS covers, are you aware of this pictorial cancellation that you can still get?

Just received my Mark Twain pictorial postmark from Hartford, CT today and it's a good thing I didn't plan to create a cachet on the envelopes first, as there is no room for one with the size of the pictorial postmark being used:

wt1,

Thanks for the head's up about the cancellation.

Your cover looks nice. That is an awfully big cancel, though!

I have an extra cachet from Brookfield and would be happy to send it to you if you are interested.

Thanks for your kind offer, but I just got mine from Brookfield, too. At least I was able to fit a cachet on this one:

I really like the cachet on that envelope wt1.
Who is the artist? Where did that come from?
