The 9c is a 745, the other should be a L-8E

Thanks. I was on the fence as to whether the first one was a Type 745 or not, as the printing looked typeset, so I decided to post both of them just to be sure.

Appreciate the info. (I'm nearing the end of ID'ing my Ohio precancels.)

According to the PSS album pages, Akron, Ohio did not have a known Type 263 precancel, which is why the Type 745 seemed correct. Is there any reason to think otherwise?

Thanks again. The Types 745 and 261 sure look awfully close to each other, the difference appears to be in the height of the letters, so I'll concede that Type 261 is correct.

Although these are damaged examples, would you agree that these other precancels are also Type 261's? At casual glance they look the same, but the lines look a slight bit thicker on the 8 cent stamp, although it could just be due to over-inking which results in an optical illusion.

Looking to ID yet another Akron L-Type. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

As best as I can measure, bars are 10 mm apart; 2 mm in all other measurements (between top bar and city name/city and state name/state name and bottom bar).

This is the L7, with the OH1O [not OHIO] error.

THanks. I never even noticed the "OH1O" error until you pointed it out! How common was that "error"? Just another oddity?

I am down the jersey shore and don't have my books with me, but, I recollect one row of 10 have the error on a sheet of 100. It is one of the easier errors to find, mathematically ten times easier than the Youngstown missing period.
