Hi All,

Ran across an example that caught my eye.
It looks like the paper is tan in stead of white.
Does anyone have any info on a tan background Liberty Bell Forever?
At first I thought it might be a stain of some kind, but the colored portion of the stamp doesn't seem to be discolored or stained and the tan color seems very even.

Any thoughts?

Kind Regards,

Dave N.

It reminds me more of the label on the booklet than on the stamps themselves.

Never seen that one. I'm wondering if it could have been a printer error and the stamp was imprinted on the wrong side of the booklet? You will recall that the "title page label" from these booklets were printed in tan to easily identify the "title page label" from actual stamps that were valid for postage. It wouldn't be that hard to believe that somewhere in the printing process the paper was reversed and the stamps were printed where the "title page label" should have been. Just a guess, of course.

Incidentally, if anyone's interested in a study of these Liberty Bell stamp varieties, I found this PDF file to be an especially good reference:

I have one of these as well. However, I don't know squat about what the deal is with it. I kept it only due to the color standing out.

I noticed that the white ones have a 2007 date and the tan one has a 2009 date. Maybe that's just a different issue? I'm not sure either? cool though.

I just soaked about 250 of these liberty bells (whiteones) not to hijack or go off subject, but

about 1/5 of these stamps kept the sticky backing, despite my best efforts. a year ago someone posted a thread
about an can of solvent sold at Lowes or Home Depot, that did magic sticky removal for stamps that was non toxic and natural ingredients?

I not all about diping my hands in toxic chemicals or have them laying open in my house around the family.

if you can help thanks, hate to waste 50 some bell stamps.

Edwin,
(back to lurking in the forums :)

O BTW, my guess is that a booklet was fed in backwards and press cut backwards thus the stamp was printed on the picture end and therefor has the same color as the booklet logo.

in my web search there were a few upside down errors on the revers side but none showed a error on the tan end.
