I've been following the plating discussions on the 1c Franklin for some time now and thought it was about time that I got one and tried my hand at plating it.

This one isn't in the greatest shape but it provided me with sufficient detail to make an educated guess. I believe it is position 87R1L. Am I close?

Steve

The end ties of the top and outer bottom recuts match 87R as does the "C". The second recut on the bottom on your example looks very weak, perhaps due to plate wear. The Double Transfer of the lines above the "C" match well as does the guide dot.

Wow, that bottom inner recut is really light. Good job seeing that. The mark on the C is quite distinctive, tho.
