Hi to all
I have to stay out of stamp shops.
I bought these today at $2.00 each they were saying "buy me" so I did.
Seven of them are addressed to a Samuel Pickens, I like the envelope with the "grinning camel" postmark.
(I must stay out of stamp shops, I must stay out of stamp shops)
Regards
Horamakhet

Beautiful material ... and at a great price, too!

One thing I'll mention is the hand cancel from Log Cabin, California represents a DPO (discontinued post office) that was only in operation from 1926-1944. The post office was actually situated in a log cabin!

Nice covers, I particularly like the 5 cent with the red Liverpool packet marking.

I love covers and these are nice ones. I especially like the Schmid poultry cover. My great grandfather and great uncle ran country stores in upstate New York and I have some covers from wholesalers with whom they received goods.

That's an interesting cover to be sure. I just looked up the company name and came up with this ad showing that they were apparently a shop with some wide varieties of animals, including monkeys. Quite unusual it would seem for Washington, DC, however, I guess must consider the day and age (1901) when they were in business:

Hi to all
It is amazing the things that people used to sell.
It is interesting what you can learn from covers.
The one with the beautiful copperplate seems to be printed, so I wonder if it was some type of invitation to an event.

No, I don't think it was an invitation to an event, just a fancy (and very beautiful) typeface used by a hair and wig dealer, probably on reply mail of some sort.

Here's a similar cover I pulled from a Siegel Auction, however, the price realized is not nearly as comparable to your example, as it involves scarcer stamps and markings from a registered mailing:
