Is it my imagination or this there color in this SC#179's target cancel.
I've seen some others that have claimed to be and I find those to be very very subtle in it's difference.(go figure )
...anyway, it seems to my eye that when compared to the other black cancels, this has a reddish quality. Am I delusional

Now would you look at that! I have almost the same stamp! A Doppelganger!

I've always thought the faded colour of the postmark was the result of a wash at some point?

Good luck with your question, sorry I couldn't be much help!

Have a Good One,

Skilo54

hey one other question...Would this be considered a "jumbo"?
I just recently learned what that meant...could this be an example?

If you see a reddish colour in the cancel that could be iron in the ink that is oxidizing as the cancel fades.

It has very wide top and bottom margins and good side-to-side but not sure what the actual criteria is for the "jumbo" margin.

wow, Rod...that's a lot of colors! How subtle can they be? In your opinion do you think this #179's cancel is one of color or no?
