I seem to be having problems uploading my images. How do I upload images over 100k? FDCs etc are larger and I get the message:
Request object error 'ASP 0104 : 80004005'
Operation not Allowed
/outputFile.asp, line 13
Secondly, my uploads appear as a ling to "stamp community"
Please guide me
Thanks a lot!

Go to photobucket.com--download there after scanning your pics- then copy and paste to forum. It's free, too.

Quote: I seem to be having problems uploading my images. How do I upload images over 100k? You can't. Honestly, there's absolutely no reason for photos over 100K. You can get all the detail needed with plenty of room to spare within that. Photo tutorial is here, Irfanview will help you. Photobucket is fine too. |

You cannot upload files bigger than 100K on this site. IMO, there is no reason to have files bigger than 100K, at least not for the purpose they are posted here.
An image is posted as a URL inside the image tags:

Notice that there are no double quotes inside, just the URL. A shorter version for pics uploaded to SC can be used too:

Alan,
Please read the posts here and the link posted by Bobby. I won't fix further posts from you. It's not that hard to get the images on posts. Everyone else here does it. |

Alan, when you copy and paste from photobucket you need only copy the IMG code. If you highlight it then paste you find it works well. |

Thank you Gussyboy, Bobby, Rui, Bandicoot for your replies. Covers, m/s etc are all over 100k size. I'll try bandicoot's suggestion to use photobucket. |

Alan also if you will download Irfan View you can resize them and they will still show very well. I use the programming that came with my printer/scanner to crop and then resize with Irfan View and they always turn out great the only tricky part is the text code tags but if you read the tutorial and check out what Rui posted in his comment up just a few from here you will see how to place the text code tags. Good luck. |

This is a key aspect: resizing the picture. You don't need to use a large picture here and if you resize them, everyone will still be able to see them very well and the disk space taken by them will be greatly reduced. |

It took me forever to get it straightened out--I'm not a computer kind of person and it was all so new to me. Just ask Bobby and anyone else who corrected my messes--they were adorably patient with me!
