Scott #11A, Type II, from top row of pane w/ Wilmington, Delaware CDS. Value is between $5-8 probably. There are a zillion 3c collectors on ebay that will pay a fair price for the cover whatever that ends up being. If it is actually a '56 usage the color is almost certainly '56 Brownish Carmine.

Only $8 I thought it maybe worth more than that, I suppose I'll list it for $10 bucks and see what happens. Thanks for the help.

there are a lot of covers worth a lot of money.
The #11 aren't that valuable.
There were 340 million 11's.

Duncanv:
Think about it - what would make that cover worth more? Logically, the following would:
- Better margins all around (the bottom is cut into)
- A rare origination or destination (Wilmington, Del to Philadelphia is nothing special. Indian Territory [Oklahoma], is special)
- Something else going on on the cover (see below)
- A better stamp. The 3c is the most common stamp of the era. An imperforate 1c stamp is scarcer, some varieties of the 1c imperforate are worth >$50,000 on cover. If it had a full margin 5c imperforate, it would be worth >$500, regardless of anything else. An imperforate 10c stamp would be worth >$100 regardless of anything else. Same will hold true for the perforated versions of this issue, as well as the 1861, 1869, and virtually any other series of stamps.
- covers with multiple stamps, multiple denominations, etc. would add to the value.

Now, here are some "better" imperforate 3c covers:

That help?
C.

Here is a classic example of $3 Stamp on cover that has some value.

Simple Scott#65 CV around $3 on cover but the cover itself is a Patriotic cover from the Civil War showing the first battle of the Civil War. I'm not too sure of the exact value but I've already been offered $250.00 by one of the leading early US Cover experts.
