Pic from a friend.
What would cause this yellow stripe?
It hasn't affected the red quetzal in the center.

Because the red is not affected (it seems) could this be a possible error caused while printing, the green (and yellow stripe) before the red?

My first thought was someone used a chemical to brush across the green, but it is a very neat job of brushing as no red has been changed it seems.

I guess part of the gum wasn't original in back of the stamp..and it was stuck on manila paper envelope ...This could be happen after the chemical reaction between gum and manila paper..

I have seen this kind of mystery item early Pakistan

This is my opinion

Black_Jack thank you and welcome!

Interesting. Do you know of any examples on the internet that are similar perhaps? It would be interesting to see others.

note: after I added the back scans and the darkened scan especially I realized how sorry a state this poor stamp is in. And it survived to this day just because of it's colour change.

I have this one from Canada which appears similar. I suspect a chemical reaction.

If the fixer was not properly removed from the stamp when processing, it could have caused the green to fade, the reaction may be different with different dyes, or may simply take longer, there may be a sequel to this message?
