Not especially well centered, but ample margins all around on this Scott #7:

Stallzer,

Would you be willing to post a less pixelated version of that 3c vermilion you posted? I'd like to take a closer look at it. Something does not look quite right in the pic I am seeing.

Maybe let the res stay at 600, and let the image max out at 600dpi on the vertical with no enhancement?

This is a great thread, I would like it to continue. Looking through a few loose ones ,finding any kind of centering is tough!

Thanks, eyeonwall. It's always been one of my favorites.

It fascinates me that the 1-cent imperforate issue was so elegantly designed with all its scrolls and curves, but so crudely cut apart. The Post Office hasn't matched the workmanship of this stamp in many decades. Those days are gone.

I guess my 834 isn't really a "classic". These are a little bit older. They're pretty clean, for used stamps.

Sorry for the delay, haven't been near the stamps much lately.

Thank you for posting that, Stallzer. I am having trouble seeing the short horizontal line in the frame shading below the TS of "CENTS". Unfortunately, even the new image isn't helping.

Is the short line there?

Here's a few of my well centered classics...

Nice Scott #J60...

Not a classic, but well centered with jumbo margins:

@southpaw,

Whoa, that rakium application seems amazing. While I don't have an Apple computer, laptop, or tablet; I do have an iPhone. I will have to try the app version out and let you all know how well it works.

Pretty cool!
