it does look like the picture. on top of that cliff is a cemetery that dates back to the VI century, and a tower (the remains of a fort or church). im not sure where the resort relative to that. I added that english page on suuksu. the russian page has a little bit more information.

the Zheleznovodsk page you posted is about the town. the page I posted above is about the actual spring. it says the water comes from a lake that is feed by sulfur springs and it is believed to have healing properties.

the water was famous among the locals to heal cuts and wounds and in 1866 it was officially recognized by hospitals, then it became popular as a resort in 1902 after a doctor from Moscow University visited and wrote about it.
"Bath buildings, with 39 separate rooms are located near the source...special rooms for mud baths....

Here are a couple of different cards. They look like scenes from a play with Act, Scene, and lines.

The last scan looks like the potentially significant line from the back of these cards.

Interesting topic and nice postcards!

Quote:
back to card 2
'валы алма-ата' Almaty (wall?)
'ушелье горельник' Gorelnik gorge

--> That must be the place in Kazakhstan. Alma Ata or Almaty. I am not sure what you mean with "wall"

Re. one of the first cards: Libau is currently Liepaja in Latvia and it used to be a harbourtown near / in Prussia. That must explain why it is a german card.

yea its definitely kazakhstan, i'm not sure what wall means either but thats what I take валы to mean. there must be a alternate meaning to that word since there is clearly no wall in the picture.

It looks as if these are going to be too small to read.
Here's a sample. Will have to re-do them.

OK, here's a larger image added with this edit.

This one says it's the military road to Georgia, in French on the back.
Would have to assume the Russian caption says about the same.

A keeper? There is no standard address format on the back.

Would Guess the caption on the front says something such as Petrodvortes - The Great Palace.

Let's see if I can still read it. Please don't take this as a final translation

1

definitely says "Kavkaz" so Caucasus.. I can't make out the rest.

2

reads "Leonid Kharitonov" (according to the text, he was an actor who played the role of Boris Gorikov in the 1954 film "Shkola Muzhestvia" and also appeared in the other mentioned movies. In two films about Ivan Brovkin he played the main roles.

3

reads "Artistka L. Tselikovskaya" (so she's described as an artist, nothing specific. Card printed in Kiev)

4

"Petrodvoretz - bolshoy dvoretz I bolshoy kaskad" (so it would mean "the great palace and the great fountain/cascades")
