Hi everyone - question of the day: how common is it for a line pair to have a double line? (2 distinct lines, not a double impression) Thanks! Leif

Hi Leif! If you have one, a scan would be very nice. If you can not scan, give a Scott number so we know what we are dealing with?
I collect Transportation Coils, and under certain circumstances the so called Cottrell line can be double.
Also, on some later stamps the seam line can be doubled ( two different colors / plates ).

Peter

Hello & thanks for the reply. The stamp in question is a US #599 coil line pair. It has 2 distinct red lines while the stamp impressions are clearly not double - although one line appears to not make it down to the last perf - maybe applied by someone else?. Lines are about 2 line widths apart. Forgive MY ignorance - I can't seem to find the option that let's me post the scan....

Leif,

When you select "Reply to Topic" you should see a link that says "Upload Image" immediately below the box in which you type your text. If you use the "Quick Reply" function to make a post you can't upload images.

Do you have a photo bucket account? If so then upload to PB and then copy and paste the "[IMG]" tag into the body of your message. I hope this helps a bit?
