The stamp market has effectively collapsed, investors have pulled out, so stamps that are listed in Scott for immense amounts of money can now be acquired for a song on ebay. I would be happy to trade some nineteenth-century stamps that show the wear and tear of age for the inverted Jenny.

All right ,has everybody had their say on the matter...............Now let me put this out.......My guess {and its only a guess} this inverted Jenny may be one of the two that was stolen over 50 years ago . Maybe this present owner wants to sell it or let it go without the FBI visiting him. Here is my offer ------sell it to me for cash and I will donate it to the APS. After my attorney writes up the release and no claims with the APS and other parties. This will be a private cash transaction, price will be 2% to 6% of market . I will want this to be strictly private on this matter and give the present holder of the inverted Jenny a no disclosure agreement with a certified bond.---------I will be having photos of those two missing stamps to match perf . and centering charactristics,I believe photos are at the New York Library or the APS .They need to come out of the shadows again.

Just when I thought some of us were getting a little dull, I read this whole thread start to finish and I marvel at the attempts to help/advise, but more I chuckle and laugh at the wit and humor.
I learn so much from all of you!

Oh, and I'll go 2 bucks!
We could all share custody and send it around, like the Stanley Cup.

First off an old post that comes to the top for what reason. The OP has been gone for awhile.

Second who buys or owns this stamp and doesn't know the value or how to sell it.

Doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

It makes a lot of sense about very valuable stolen property . Somewhere those two Jenny's are going to surface. The question will be where and how the holders try to test the responds. After holding something for years the holders rather have money for them ,much like the ICE HOUSE COVER.

Ever hear of Alzheimer's? Odds are anyone flush enough to buy a C3a in 1969/70 is liable to be a candidate for that disorder by now. That's the sort of person who would need help with liquidating an advanced collection too.

The point is I don't think we have to trash the plausibility or integrity of the original post just because we are frustrated in our curiosity at seeing the thing.

"The grapes were sour anyway."

I'm curious to know if they got to Stampshow in Milwaukee (where another C3a was on a page in an exhibit frame.) This one maybe?

The only thing that seems weird in this thread is that it's been going on since March and still no photos provided... which really should have been in the very first post to be honest.

It was either that the OP was trolling with us just knowing everyone would be drooling over it or as quoted earlier that it could of been one of the stolen ones and just seeing if anything had quietening down on the news of it. Isn't there a black market for hot(stolen) stamps I mean everything else can be sold on the black market. By the way wasn't it Black Friday yesterday. I'll annie up 5 bucks and we can do it like the olympic torch and have the members here run thru each town with it. I mean it sounds like that is what the thief has been doing. RUNNING

I've decided to LOCK this thread.

It's gone on for 7 pages --- it was "empty" content from the first and it continues to draw in new readers. It's fine to discuss rarities and even to fantasize about owning them, but in this specific case, I doubt there is an actual stamp.

The Original Post was from a brand new member who has never made another post to our board. Perhaps it was a "noob" or an honest mistake, but if it's not a troll, then I am very suspicious, to say the least...
