My local dealer pulled these out of an auction lot he just picked up. I asked to be able to take them home and scan them. I figured people might find them useful. The catalog numbers are Scott.

Usually these identifiers are done in albums and catalogs as simple line drawings, whereas these actually have stamps affixed (I have not personally verified whether each stamp is correct for the type).

4 PDFs in total. Warning: these files are VERY large. I scanned the pages at 1600dpi, so you can zoom in very far and get all the details clearly.

2-Cent Washington-Franklins (9.6 MB in size):

3-Cent Washington-Franklins (10.3 MB in size):

2-Cent and 3-Cent Offset Washington-Franklins (different layout than the above, 15.9 MB in size):

Great resource, Rev! Thanks for posting! Maybe this will give me the incentive to dig into that pile of W/F's I've been ignoring.

Experienced stamps need a home too. I'd rather have an example that is imperfect than no example.

I_Love_Stamps,

It might be your browser. I tried to open them with Firefox and got a blank page and a warning that the pages will not display correctly.

I downloaded the files and opened them with Adobe 8.3 and they worked just fine.

Great scans. I'm going to save these for future reference. If anyone has slow internet or a slow computer. Don't even try to download the links. Ha! Ha! Those the biggest files I've ever seen. I think someone almost blind could see them pretty good.

Thanks RevenueCollector added to my collection of Washington / Franklin identifiers!
Now to get started on the hundreds piled up to start identifying!

I learn so much on this forum and thank all that contribute! I am a reader and don't often post (as you can see) as I am no where near the level of knowledge that you all are!

When I downloaded then directly to my computer it worked fine? Must need updated (My PDF viewer) That would be an awesome guide to have! It reminds me of that Stanley Gibbons color guide/chart that uses actual stamps. Very cool!

Thanks so much for sharing these. I have already spotted a Washington in my collection that I had misidentified. I find it helpful to see the design differences on photos of the actual stamps, and now the ability to zoom-in is terrific.
