Since I responded to a couple of 1c Franklin topics earlier, I thought I'd post one. I bought this on ebay and spent $13 total on it, but I LOVED the nice perfs and the centering-- a little too much to the top, but I could still ID this as a "D" relief.

I'm not very good at plating yet, but this one had a little line of color in the middle of the hair- the image is 1200dps, so you'll see it very well, and there are several on plate 9 with something in the hair.

I went to the Richard Doporto's website to verify what I thought was a possible plating of 78L9, and found the marks exactly where he shows them. If you like the classics and haven't seen this site, it is just one of the most fabulous philatelic websites available, with invaluable information:

Here is an image of the stamp, hope you enjoy!:

Ooooh I love that one! These are hard for me to find in any sort of wonderful centering (within my meeger budget) but I am starting to learn plating, well more like I'm learning to understand it better and find it absolutely fascinating! However, I can see it getting really expensive- really quickly! Great looking #24 too!!
