6 Cent 1941 Air Mail Stamp

I learn something about stamps every month. Today I was sorting my massive group of stamp on paper looking for selvage, doubles etc. I stumbled onto the Scott # C25 that looked different. At first I thought it was a coil stamp. It clearly wasn't perfed on the ends.

I checked in my Scott Catalog to figure this odd version out. The C25 was issued on June 25, 1941 in carmine. What I found out they had a gutter version both vertical and horizontal.

The C25 came in a C25a version that is imperfed at the sides or a sides and bottoms.

Here is my C25 along side the C25a.

A severely mis-cut booklet stamp....quite an eye catching freak.

Yes, that is a mis-cut booklet single. A nice freak to find... there are not a lot out there, but they are not uncommon.
