So. I was thinking of buying this very super rare and gorgeous stamp (#65) but I just have a nagging feeling that it just might have been reperforated on the right hand side but I'm not entirely sure, so I need your expertise... Please give me your input. Thanks.

What makes you think so? Perhaps it was a private perforation. :-)

Jeff,

Don't be put off by the reperf job -- the stamp might be an 83 -- it looks like that is a C grill on the back.

I would probably avoid purchasing that stamp. It has a crease at the top right and what appears to be a tear at the top towards the right.

Could be a split grill.

Here is an example:

Just so much stuff to absorb on the great one-of-a-kind rarity... I just want to thank you all for sharing your abundant knowledge. Admittedly I'm having a bit of trouble finding that grill in the specialized catalog... It might be the illusive "Weber" grill?

Look at the points on that split grill. No graphite needed to see those.

It looks more like a zigzag roulette variety. Would you say it's more zig or zag?
