I just got this one in the mail today, a very scarce R18c double transfer commonly referred to as 'eggs north', where the outlines of the numeral ovals are transposed to the north. There is also an 'eggs west' (which I am still looking for) although that DT is not as bold as this one. The second image is much higher resolution with the DT elements highlighted. It looks like there might also be something going on through the tops of the letters of "proprietary" in the bottom scroll, especially the OP and the ET.

Oh, you were the one. I was one of the useful underbidders. Of course this is an easy DT to spot. This seller usually doesn't notice a lot on the revenues he sells, I wish he had not noticed this. :-) |

It actually went for more than I was hoping... dang eagle-eyed collectors. I've never seen one in person before, only the images that Karl sent me for the DT reference page. The seller originally had it listed as a double impression (for $1,000!), which of course it cannot be. I contacted him and he pulled the listing and resubmitted correctly. |

Adobe Photoshop. Those are drawn with the line tool with an arrowhead at one end, using a "line style" that has interior embossing (to give it the slightly 3-D look) and a drop shadow.
It gives the illusion of sitting above the stamp, which I like. |

They left a lot of guidelines on this position, too. It's easy to see it was a rush job. |

This stamps is very cool, and nicely scanned and highlighted.
Makes you think how many other stamps have these fragments.
Two poached eggs on Canadian bacon, please |

They are really not fragments. The double transfer was created because of design lines that were not completely burnished out when the original plate position was misaligned. The guidelines were then added to the plate to make it easier to line it up correctly. Usually they are removed, but in this case they were left on three sides. |

I took a look at this thread and the ad I received on the page was: "Easy Egg Salad Recipe" |
