I know, I was at an antique and collectors show in NY this weekend. A woman there had thousands upon thousands of Post cards I went through 3 big boxes, but got tired, my eyes just couldn't look at another #300 or #300b any more, LOL. So many places to find stamps. All in all I picked up 31 covers and 15 post cards, for a whopping $14.
Yeah I can't wait till I venture out again.................
@Zuzu at first I felt weird about it, vendors would give me curious looks, but now I am an old hack, I just turn the cards around and start flipping. I always seem to find something interesting. I enjoy driving the country side looking for barn sales and yard sales. I know somewhere out there I am going find a real gem, don't known when but one day for sure............
Every time I'm at a paper show, or some place where they have post cards, I ALWAYS turn the boxes around backward. I get some pretty strange looks, but I always make sure I put it back after.
The Washington/Franklin issues is an addictive subject to study. They provide me hours of entertainment and chances are you'll get hooked. Here is a site that can help you put scott numbers to your stamps if your so inclined?
I concentrate on the color variations of just one issue of the WF's. The perf 10 watermarked issue. Beginning with Scott 424, (I think). Just this one issue is endlessly fascinating.
