I post this stuff mostly for the 1c Franklin enthusiasts-- Art Launier, Winston Sinclair and Stalzer, but I did get another Type Va in the mail today, and was able to plate it as 98L5:

The perfs are ragged at the top left, but it's still a great $16 purchase. The plating features of this particular stamp include some bruising on the lower left margin, similar to "mottling", and in the upper left and right ornaments there are some specific scratches and marks. Also you can't see the bottom right very well, but there are some very nice diagonal plate scratches there.

I haven't been as active here lately, and with my ebay activities-- large problems at home and I'm in the middle of a divorce right now, and I had mentioned a couple of weeks ago that I'd post some real basic stuff on this stamp-- and I haven't forgotten. So please bear with me..

But I thought I'd post this one--
Take care and enjoy, Ray

Thanks I as well am quite captivated with the whole idea of plating but admittedly I know little more than the basics. In time however, I hope to be able to contribute to threads like these. Thank you for the education. Sincerely -Jeff
