Was hoping to get some of your opinions on this color. Will help me decide whether it is worth having it graded. I am thinking 64b.

Thanks.

Doug

Doug...All monitors show color differently.
First....it is not centered well enough to be graded.
You can get it certed....without a numerical grade attached.
I suggest contact Bill Weiss....very knowledgeable and inexpensive and fast to reply.

Doug, it certainly has a chance to be 64b.
Kevin is correct. Best bet is to send to Bill Weiss for a certificate.
You can get an ID-only, a B&W cert or a color cert. I have both B&W and color certs from Bill (and have color certs for my 64's and 64b's), but since the Philatelic Foundation certs, which are the standard in the hobby, are B&W, spending $5 less for a B&W cert also makes sense.

Either way good luck. Nice color on this stamp, but again Kevin is correct in that all screens show shades differently and all scanners do also. It could always be lilac rose also-- which is #65. Some of the lilac roses look an awful lot like pink.

It really helps to have the stamp on cover-- Weiss will give you a cert for a 64b much more easily if it has an 1861 year-dated cancel. Since the pinks were only printed in August of '61, that's the tell-tale sign.

Hope this helps, Ray
