Hi kevin504, Well it has around a $60.00 unused according to my Scotts. I don't know how he comes up with the idea of $600 dollars. Unless its an unused NH plate block of 6. Just a guess. Gary |

Could it be SC 416a (brown yellow)? This is an example of that shade from Siegel's auction: |

The vignette is off a slight bit ( larger on the left side as opposed to the right side ( vertical ). There is one pulled perforation on the left side at the top ...first perforation . If these things did not exist it would be considered a "gem" ( superb 100) . The surplus on the catalog value is due to grading. Scott's values are for "fine" to "very fine stamps" . Beyond those grades ( of F -VF ) command a premium above catalog value . Just my opinion. |

OK....HERE GOES.... Seller states stamp is NH....but has gum disturbance. Stamp has a PF cert stating hinged..... seller still states CV as NH for added premium. Quote: Nearly perfectly centered. Never Hinged original gum with a slight gum disturbance towards the top. With 2008 Philatelic Foundation Certificate #464126 graded XF-S95 and states: "previously hinged at top," which must be the slight gum disturbance mentioned |

Can anyone verify the legitimacy of the claim by the Seller that HIS grading system as the one being used is acceptable? Quote: I grade every item using the Anderson Standard Grading System, which I fully developed by 1997. It is designed to provide an accurate, standard grade and to safeguard you, the buyer. It was the first standard grading system in use, in fact many years before grading was employed by Scott catalogs or offered as an addition to PFC & PSE certs (Yes, I can document this claim). After a few years of repeatedly modifying their systems, the Scott catalogs, PFC & PSE are finally moving closer to my system. This is personally gratifying to me, since it vindicates the approach that I have used in grading stamps since 1997. However, please note that every certificate EVER issued by APS, PFC or PSE states that the identification and grading of stamps is a professional "opinion" only. The expert services can and do reverse themselves regularly (I have a file of reversed certs that prove this). Unlike coin grading companies, none of the stamp grading companies offer any monetary damages in the case of a reversal of opinion (except for the original fees charged). This means that grading is always a subjective opinion to some degree. |

My original point I was trying to make..... Why would he state the item had a PF cert if he did not agree with it?? You get a cert for a expert opinion....(I know, came with the stamp he purchased) Any disturbance on the gum will get you a LH/hinged cert. BUT.... the board was slow so decided to post a topic....

I am familiar with the seller. He used to offer free shipping on his items (before his ebay days)IF you returned the stamps he used to ship your item to you. He even provided a SASE. Just did not ever agree with his grading system. |

This is from his grading chart on his website.
CONDITION: 1 = Flawless: stamp is sound in every respect. Condition is fully original and ideal. If unused, original flawless gum. 2 = Near Flawless: Unused: gum has one minor gum bend, crease, skip, inclusion, or is lightly hinged. Paper : sound in every respect. Used : light cancel but may be in a focal area. 3 = Medium High: stamp has a single minor flaw as follows: Unused: gum ranges from hinged to heavy hinge or hinge remnant. Paper : single minor detraction such as a single nibbled perf., natural straight edge, etc. 4 = Medium Low: Unused: gum disturbed, no gum, or regummed(RG). Paper : may have up to (3) Grade #3 flaws or one major flaw: thin, tear, etc. Used : heavy cancel 5 = Near Filler: close to the worst possible condition. Paper: multiple major flaws. 6 = Filler: the lowest possible condition, with little merit other than it will fill the space at a low cost. Paper: multiple major flaws. IF THE GRADE IS APPENDED WITH A "J" THAT MEANS LARGE, JUMBO MARGINS. IF THE GRADE IS APPENDED WITH A "C" THAT MEANS EXCEPTIONAL COLOR AND/OR IMPRESSION FOR THE ISSUE. .
