#In my professional opinion (based on over 35 years of experience), the following item is:

416 Ten Cent Franklin.

I grade this item: Extra Fine 2, which means:

Nearly perfectly centered. Never Hinged original gum with a slight gum disturbance towards the top. With 2008 Philatelic Foundation Certificate #464126 graded XF-S95 and states: "previously hinged at top," which must be the slight gum disturbance mentioned. Very choice.

SCV at XF95 $675

Gar --- his chart does not match his description. Extra fine 2 vs 2 Near flawless ( I guess ) .

Strange !

He has been around a long time and he has been using his shall I say "unusual" grading system for a long time.

I too have my very own personal grading system. It kind of goes like this, I like it, I want it, the price is right, I buy it and whether Mr. Anderson thinks it is a #1 OR 2 does not really matter. I am not so arrogant that I expect anyone else to adhere to my system. Seriously I think this "new" graded system for stamps is goofy. I have seen people listing very common stamps from the last 30 years with a catalog value well under $10.00 into the 100's of dollars due to the grade. Someone can go to any show and buy sheets of discount postage that they will be able to find the absolute best examples in the sheets and grade that stamp at super inflated prices. They then prey on mostly inexperienced collectors with great claims of investment potential. This can only harm our hobby and potentially scare away new collectors.
