Ok, from what I have been looking at and understand is Stamp A38 Chile. Is supposed to say (Chile Correos) in the frame. With Joaquin Prieto as a Photo in the center, which was a regular issue from 1915 to 1925? And the frame work changed in 1928 to 1930 and then Said (Correos De Chile) with O Higgins as the only photograph in the center, instead of (Joaquin Prieto). My Question…. Was there ever an issue of Frame work Correos De Chile with a Photograph of Joaquin Prieto in the center, from the A38 stamp 15 centavos Violet and black?

What I have is frame work (Correos De Chile) with Joaquin Prieto in the center instead of O Higgins. I looked thru Scott and did not see this stamp.

I'm certainly no expert on Chile but here is an illustration of 28 and 38 from an ebay auction. Maybe it will help.

Greg, what you show are stamps #28 and 38, but Stever is referring to design A38.

I will check what my Michel catalogue has to say about this.

I think I have it now:
There are five types of this stamp, according to Scott:
104 (issued 1911, engraved, perf. 12 - Chile Correos)
133 (issued 1915-1925, litho with the oval engraved, perf. 13.5/14.5 - Chile Correos)
155A (issued 1928-1931, typo with oval engraved, same perf but with watermark - Chile Correos)
165 (issued 1929, litho with oval engraved, perf. 13.5/14.5 - Correos de Chile)
171 (issued 1929, typo with oval litho, same perf. - Correos de Chile)

Michel adds to this that the 133 was issued in March 1917 and is a more dark purple compared to the first one. Michel only mentions one type for the Correos de Chile, but with two subtypes, a light and a dark center.

it should be easy to find out, just check if you can feel the ink of the portrait. If you can feel it lying on the paper, it's engraved (#165), if it is smooth it is litho (#171)
