Back to one of my favorite sports ... especially since I had a big tub of stamps to look through. I don't think these are anything special, but thought I would show them anyway.

This C23 has a small, curved line coming out of the top of the "I" in "Air". I don't see it in my other copies, and don't think it is part of the cancellation.

I also have a Line Block of Four. The lower left stamp has a very slight break of the bottom vignette line, just above the first S and P of US Postage.

What I thought was also interesting, is that I found another single with the right line block. It has breaks in the vignette line, almost in the same places.

I am not an expert on these, but, I think they are just minor ink 'brushing' varieties. Still though, they are always nice to add to a collection. You might want to write-up an album and ad these illustrations you have just shown here. Just a thought.

The white line varieties are due to fibers that were on the plate when the ink was applied but were removed when the plate was wiped prior to the actual printing.

The blue whisker off of the I is a fiber that go inked and escaped removal before the actual printing.

Fibers from cleaning rags as well as stray hairs are not uncommon in that time period.

Interesting and collectible with little or no additional value.
