Got several old postcards and covers with Wash-Franks. How do I
perf them without removing stamp? Is there a perf guage to do that?
I heard there is a program you install on your computer that will perf them for you. Is that true? Also I heard you can count the holes
to determine the perfs.

stampaholic.....

The perfs and the spaces between them need to be measured not counted.

I have not seen an on-line perf gauge program. Given that different monitors have different pixel sizes I can't imagine a system that could be accurate 100% of the time.

To check perfs on cover you need a clear plastic type, they are also designed to accurately measure the new serpentine perfs.

Here's a link to a Scott perf gauge.

Why not blow up and scan the stamp on cover, and then blow up and scan the perf gauge? Do it in Paint, click and drag the perf gauge along the stamp bottom and you're done.

Thanks, All : for the help.
NR- maybe it's not a computer program but a gadget that scans it and tells what the perfs are.
I don't know, it seems like I saw something like that advertised. also the Scott perf guage, it's on ebay, dealer on
takes paypal & credit cards.
WPG- good idea. will try that, although I'm a real klutz when it comes to stuff like that.

This is a great answer, but it's funny how technology is the first answer for some people. I would never in my life thought to do this!
