A while back there was a discussion about these.
I stated that once you see plenty you can easily
spot the fakes....
Browsing ebay....
There it is.....
Looks like a old typewriter did this one.

Different ink in the overprint...
Different font....

<sarcasm> But wait, the seller has 100% positive feedback with over 10000 transactions. Plus there is 100% money back guarantee. So buy with confidence. </sarcasm>

It is how you handle the mistake that is important.

Kevin,
I concur. But there are plenty of examples that demonstrate ebay feedback and number of sales as not being good indicators of a quality seller. You are well aware of the games that can be played with the feedback, in both directions.

This is why I call foul on the Swedish Tiger seller 'Awards'. His formula is based upon ebay feedback and number of sales. Even his calculation for 'Dealer of the Year' is lame. The method used for that is, "Voting is calculated by dividing the sellers total feedback by the number of votes. The highest percentage wins. The seller needs over 500 feedback to qualify" So it turns out the NY Stamps wins 'Dealer of the Year' for 2014. Also scoring a 99.8% is HMorgan10, which is higher than Eric Jackson's score! Wow, just wow. How can anyone take that seriously? If I were a seller and my name were listed I would request for it to be removed (birds of a feather thing).

Don,

It's scary that a Phillip Ryle account has better feedback than Eric Jackson? Yikes!

Meanwhile ebay could care le$$....

Don...
I disagree about the way you said the ST did
the awards.
It had nothing to do with ebay feedback.
It was based on positive/negative comments
about the seller at his site.

Kevin,
I can't find it now but I swear he used to describe how he calculated the rating. But none-the-less, my point stands.
Like I said, British Cartel guy gets higher score than Eric Jackson???? How obvious could it be that the formula is badly flawed?

That is one list I wouldn't want to be on if I were a seller.
