Hi All Here are two real space fillers, but because of the cancels I keep them. I know of course why, but can any body out there in SCF land figure out why? If you can't figure out why, let me know and I'll tell you. Dave

Hi All
Two responses I do not understand, might very well be my senior moments affecting me.
First Response from kevin504: Did the scan change? My answer: I just checked my original scan, it has not changed, if you are seeing a different scan, then I do not know what happen, but I did not change my scan.
Second Response from Cjd: Check the dates. Sorry, what dates are you writing about, dates of posting or cancel dates?

Sorry, I was replying to kevin504, in regard to his question "Did the scan change???"
I suspect he was wondering why someone would say "Lincoln" when the stamps depict Washington.
I was giving him a hint without spoiling the question for anyone else who might come along and see the thread.
Great stamps. I'd be keeping them, too. |

Sorry, my mistake, and now it makes sense what you said.
I'm keeping these and others with the same two dates. Some day hope to find an example of either day on a Washington D.C. Documents of some sort.
Cheers

Very memorable historic dates. Collectable on any date cancelled postal items! Nice examples. Yea, would be very nice to get on any D.C. items. |

Very Nice. I recognized this right off because the highlight of my minuteman album at the moment is a 68 with the APR 14, 1865 cancel. Since it is not BOB, I will not show it on this thread, plus your cancels are much clearer than the one on my stamp. One question, though, do expertizers render opinions on cancels when stamps are sent in for certification? The 68 I have is only worth about $10 for a stamp in it's condition, so not worth $35 to get it certified for the stamp itself, but would they render opinions on the cancel? |

They often do, especially on stamps where used examples are scarce, like 39. |

About your question, I have no idea about certificates.
So I will go by what Revcollector said.
Does you 68 have a outstanding double transfer on it?
Cheers

Sorry it doesn't fit the overall category, but it is partially relevant to this thread. Besides, I need to get up to 40 posts somehow and we all seem to like pictures of stamps in general, so... |
