Hi,me again, you guys are great, lots of solved questions for me.

Here's another one,a little tougher,I can't even comment about it because I have NO clue what it is,it is a 134 but the grill covers the whole stamp,it's very hard to see but with my goggles on and magnified I can make out the grill pattern faintly across the whole stamp.

Ok guys,what is this ?

The stamp is a re-engraved Scott 206. From the image it appears that the paper has the coarse mesh used by the American Bank Note Company. The paper will exhibit a lenticular pattern in back light and is referred to by some collectors as "newsprint". If there is a grill on the stamp, I didn't see it in the images supplied. It is not uncommon to find fake grills on printings of the Continental or even the American Bank Company.

I have a 206 with a completely fake well formed grill in the fakes and forgeries reference collection. Except for some Continental Bank Note Company essays, all of the legitimately grilled stamps were National Bank Note Products. The Scott 206 was printed by the American Bank Note Company.

Huffy,

What did you see, besides your all-over grill, that told you this was a 134?
