Wonder how many would or even have, snipped a pair apart to create a nice single. If I did it to the pair below, it would create a single showing parts of five other stamps.

Well, I did not really think you did that, but just let you know how I feel about it! I have several pairs myself that look like that, Netherlands # 1, and they are very dear to me!

I think it would be a waste of a good pair. The resultant stamp would still have a small margin at bottom and a corner crease. With that said, I am very much against destroying multiples for jumbo stamps.

I will politely disagree with the premise of the original question. The pair is better than mediocre. The single will be less than stellar with the small bottom margin. Leave it alone.

First, why am I not surprised that sinclair2010 could pick up the corner crease? lol

John Becker, kinda took the wind outta my sails.

Thanks for the input, Peter4522 and '1960.

I would ask, are pairs of this issue more rare then really nice singles?
Really nice single being better than my example.

Ciletaliph: seventh to post, first to see the big picture.

stampcrow:

1) Cut a mask so as to show only the proposed single stamp.

2) Put "Revisit the issue" on your ToDo list, the place where tasks go to die.

Cheers,

/s/ ikeyPikey

Agree the pair is superior to the individuals. Cancel, plating, color.
