Perfs cutting into a design are not perfs cutting thru a design.

Poorly applied precancel overprints are, well, poorly applied, but you never know when jammed-up letters are going to appeal to someone as a 'collectible' variety.

An error is when something goes wrong with the printing. A plate crack is a very good example, or maybe a wrong color used, It has to be there on a lot of stamps to be called an error, if you are the only one to have one it is called an oddity. The bent line in the Tampa precancel is probably an oddity!
