I wouldn't want it at any price. Wait for a copy with good color. This stamp may be faded due to somebody trying to remove a pen cancel.

Obviously, there are much better examples of Number 1. That being said, I know that if as a teen just beginning collecting, I would have given my eye teeth for this stamp. Just maybe there is a collector here with limited funds who would be happy with this as a space filler. Put in a bid of 5 dollars and see what happens.

You can always upgrade. It is not as if this the only number one that you will ever see.

Looks like someone tried to remove the pen cancel x in middle? Centering is f-vf.
Fascinating. I would pay up to 20 bucks.
It's like the holy grail of philately. Scott # 1 and a 5$ Columbian puts a smile on every collectors face.

Oh boy it's a real one, now I'm at home with my computer, my first post was with my phone and it was looking like the fake printed with a color printer the guy from Latvia sell on ebay

So bad the fade color because if you unfold the corner down left, the margin don't look that bad, you will still have a fold and a small cut, but it'S better than a complete missing side like we see often on ebay $ 400 Scott #1 stamps . Still it's a space filler. You will not get it at $ 5 , but if you can get it under or $ 100 , absolutely, you can sell it and not loose too much money latter when you find a better one. But I fallow few of them recently, as I need one for my Scott International, this one will not go under $ 100

not to spend too much time here over-analyzing a faded pen cancelled #1 with bent corner, but why the double cancel???
looks like a pen cancel (?poor removal attempt), and then cancelled again with circular? (?fake)... Was that common.... double cancellations? Just trying to learn some more about cancels.

personally, would not start at a low price under 10.00.if he doesn't get high bids, will sell for less than 20.00..that is not fair to him.

Stamp is not in fine condition, it has been cleaned to remove cancel. Not worth a lot in this condition. As Kevin said, start at lower price and let market determine the final price.
