Hi Guys. § of my collection (all on covers) that I just can't get myself to write in as a Scott 65. I have promised myself that with the money I get from my first sale of stamps (should receive that in June) that I will have these checked out with some of the proceeds. The colours on my screen are pretty close to those when looked at with the naked eye but lack the hint of brown that the first two have when in front of you. They are pretty stamps anyway and fine examples of whatever they are supposed to be. So here they are for your' viewing pleasure.

Your first stamp is sulfuretted (darkened/discolored by the elements). You can see some of the original color in protected areas like under Washington's chin, and near the S at lower right.

All three are #65, with the second and third appearing to have retained most of their original color. The second stamp is probably in the pale brown red to pale dull red range - can't be be sure of the precise color from the image. I certainly don't see any that look like they could be high-value colors.

I wouldn't recommend paying to get any of these certified, if that's what you were considering.

Here's a scan of some of the colors in my collection. The first two at top left are rose pink (#64B), and the rest are various colors of #65.

wow, ok. I can straight away spot 2 of my stamps there in your 65's. I am beginning to get more than a little frustrated with this stamp and its colours. Seems anything can be a 65 and probably is :(
