Hi everybody.

I'm not 100% sure, but the basic checkpoints are there as its described in many articles or web pages, such as (http://dubinweb.com/USpostagestamps/onecent.html)

The 1cent BEN. FRANKLIN pair I own has got:
- Perforation 11 (checked with perf. gauge)
- Cancellation
- Design width 19 and 1/4mm.
- Design length 22 and 1/2mm.

I believe that there are other important aspects that need to be checked so to be 110% sure, that its the scott #596.

Please, have a close look at the attached pics, and let me know what's your opinion.

Cheers,
Robert

My Specialized Catalogue says that most 596s have the "Kansas City, Mo." Bureau precancel and that the design is approximately 19.25 x 22.75 mm.

Color is wrong for #596. #596 is Green, yours is Yellow Green. Check your perf. measurement again. You have a #632, 11x10-1/2.

Read the information in this site. It is a good source. Also check the PF data base on certs. issued for #596. Another, check the Siegel
Auction site for the census on #596

You posted these same 2 stamps in another thread a few days ago. The responses there identified these stamps as Scott 632, which is perf 11 at the top and bottom, BUT perf 10.5 along the sides. So double-check the side perfs. If you are in doubt, post a scan showing the perfs aligned on your perf gauge.

You can not really use those dimensions, they are approximations only. And even if those dimensions were not approximations, it would be very difficult to measure the design accurately. More importantly, your stamps are not perf 11 x 11, they appear to be 11 x 10.5; this would make them the very common #632. (See image below as evidence that the perfs are different sizes.)

Please note that the 'rotary waste' stamps are incredibly rare, I think that there are 10-15 of them known. Chances of finding one is less than getting hit by lightning, winning the lottery, and dating a super model all on the same day.

The best identification approach is to always assume that you have the most common stamp since this is always the most likely situation.

Gosh Don, I hope to win the lottery and date a super model, but do I really have to be hit by lightning that day?

Hey.

Will check it again tomorrow, Book coming from the opinion that it is rare and nobody can have it is something which I don't agree with, actualy married to a supermodel, I won 1.3Mio € lottery but I wasn't hit by lightning and I'm not joking.

So there might be a possibility that you are all wrong and I have got the right one, maybe.... ( even thought that I doubt this idea ) and maybe not after all thanks a lot for all your replies.

Cheers,
Robert

Think of how many 632s you can buy with 1.3 million euros. (Wink.)

There must be some other internet forum somewhere that says, "If you want to troll a stamp collectors' site, put up this image and claim you have a 596."

The differences between #632 and #596 are difficult to ascertain until you are educated about those differences. Others have already pointed out some of the differences. What really matters is learning how to identify them for yourself.

I know that English is not your first language. Also, what I said may not be easily understood. Let me know what difficulties you have. I'll do my best to illustrate with diagrams.

Your stamps are #632 and I understand how you could be confused. Let me know what confuses you. I'll try to help you understand with illustrations.
