I have been collecting stamps since 1978. In the 90th I bought this stamp but did not give it much attention. Is this the real deal with the z grid? Is this of any value? Can anyone help with a opinion? After over 20 years, I am trying to get back into stamp collecting, There is so much to watch out for.

The stamp pictured is Scott #300 from 1903. By Z grid, I assume you actually mean Z grill. The famous 1-cent Franklin Z grill (Scott #85A) is on a stamp (of entirely different design) issued in the 1860s. The color of the rarity is blue, not green. For a more common stamp of the same design, look for Scott #63.
Added: Forgot to include CV for your stamp ... 25-cents (the minimum).
