Yoou need a much bigger scan of the stamp AND of the back of the stamp to answer part of your question, if it even has a grill.

Need a flat scan, not a camera pic.

Also needs to be much higher resolution so the stamp design is nice and big with minimal black background.

Your stamp does not appear to have an embossed grill into the paper (at least it cannot be clearly seen with the pic currently provided). The gum is damaged, making it look like there is some sort of grill pattern on the back; but that is a grilled gum, not grilled paper. My guess is that it got stored in a photo album at one time under hot/humid conditions, resulting in a fine grill pattern in the gum.
