I'm looking at some flate plate imperf coils (#344 ... #409). I understand V and H notation to indicate a vertical or horizontal coil. However, I've seen some notations using "E" (e.g. 344E). Is this an outdated notation or does it indicate something else? Thanks!

Lukusw, could you show us where to find the 'E'? And I guess you mean a flat plate instead of flate plate?

Peter

344E was an old Scott number for 344V

E probably meant "endwise", which is how I have seen the coils marked in very old collections and stocks.

Between the 1991 and 1993 US Scott Specialized catalogs, Scott changed the lettering of the suffixes on the imperforate coils.
E (endwise, or end to end) became V (vertical)
S (sideways, or side by side) became H (horizontal)

Thanks all! And, yes I did mean "flat plate coils" instead of "flate plate". Thanks!

Why are they not in the main part of the catalog instead of being relegated to the back of the book?
