Hello Ladies and Gentlemen...

Got a set of vertical perf 2c Washington and trying to identify them?

Can you please help?

Not sure if its a 599? If so, is it Type 1 or Type 2.

Does these photos help... taken from an iphone + 10x magnifier

Second one is a used line pair. Thanks in advance.

Neither of these appear to be type-II, so if you have measure correctly at perf-10these would be the common 599.

Take a look at a few other topics for better picture examples. Ideally, take the highest resolution scan your soft and hardware supports. Photos need to be as straight-on as possible; angles make identification difficult.

Hi ananthveerappan. Your pictures are quite fuzzy and that makes things difficult. But it sure looks like a type I to me.

One always needs to look at both stamps in a joint line pair, they come from different plates. That is why 599/599A pairs exist.

Revcollector, I did not see the three strong forehead lines on either stamp - that is why I opted for 599.

The three stronger hair lines are very noticeable, especially if you compare with a Type I stamp. They are unaided eye visible.
