If I were spending in a potential high dollar stamp I might not send it surface, uninsured mail through New York airport. But to each his own. I am interested in learning more about used copies of 112b, do you have more info or can point me in the right direction?

Edit: Oh, you were referring to a 112, I understood the thread to be about a 112b.

Uninsured actually has a better chance to make it, and it would go airmail anyway. The original poster might not have been aware of 123 and 133; that both do not have a grill and they are both known used, and so used 123b.

This stamp does not appear to be hard paper to me

but like you said, the OP can send it in and hope for the best. Let us know how it turns out.

I think essay explained well... It is either a 112 or 133. If send for cert it is for OP to know for sure which one.
It's not 112b . There is no such stamp certified in used condition as 112b . It doesn't exist.
133 is nice stamp and if this example is sound and has reasonable centering, which it does, it may be worth a cert to find out ( if OP cannot determine based on paper type himself). OP should research paper types (national vs American)and tricks to figure out what he has, but it is not easy (at least for me but I'm getting better since I have certified copis of bank note issues to compare)

You are all very kind, the stamp I sent American Society Philateli, it cost me a fee of $ 45 sign up to become a member, the expedition I made it by registered mail with return receipt, together with the stamp I also sent a dollar colombo series all imperforate "I do not know what it was ever seen", recently I have had this collection dated 1920, all US stamps stamped all except a few.
I move any other post for you to see these stamps, so you tell me if it is worth for a certificate or not. Simone greetings

Simone,
Do you have any additional information on the source of this stamp? Did it come from the same collection/lot as this stamp which you previously posted?

Good morning, come from the same collection, there are many stamps I'm trying to make a selection, the strong collection of 1861-1918, there are no outstanding items 1 $ - $ 2 $ -5 there, but I noticed many stamps with grid to catalog but nothing special "believe", and many 1901-1918 "extremely difficult to categorize for notching watermark and so on." , Others have excellent centering and on this if you can help me out, I would be truly grateful
