Perhaps I was wrong in thinking that paste and glue were synonymous. In any case, paste or glue, I think both are a bad idea.

I use good ole UNI-safe stock books ever since I have come to Canada. They cost around $16 + tax and are quite good, I've got alot of them! If you want cheaper, you can ask around and see if any stores sell used Stock books. I've aquired a couple that way. The only thing you'd have to look out for is if the pages are not alligned properly or tears and such. Otherwise, UNI-safe is the best bet. Used go for anywhere between $10-$12 with tax.

When I was not in Canada, there were always good design stock books which I still have. They are good for everything still even though some of the stripes are broken or ripped out.

Nash.

There are several folks here who make their own album pages. You can do them on computer or, I guess by hand. Choosing the best paper will become an issue for you. You can use plain; some people use "quadrille" (has a printed outline of a grid).

Also, I understand you're trying to spend the least amount of money, but there's a great website at http://www.stampalbums.com/ where for $30, you can download and print just about every country in the world. My suggestion to you is to go there and look around, but don't join yet.

Wait for some others here to weigh in with their suggestions. And try a few different ideas before you spend money on anything.

Another site worth visiting is http://www.philosateleia.com/ -- there you'll find a set of totally free pages, but only for the United States.

I'm sure some of the other folks will have some good ideas for you.

Nash, as kirk said I too found these sites, but without hinges its pointless. I thought of following up a online catalog and drawing up the pages.
I bought a stock book for Rs 330 last week, Its not that expensive. It depends on the place, some bookshops have for cheaper but lesser pages. Don't think we have used stock books for sale.

I buy my hinges on line because there are not available in this area either. They are fairly inexpexise so I usually get about 5000 at a time. They normally come in packages of 1000.

Nash, It might take a while, but I certainly would be willing to mail you a package or two of hinges. You would have to give me your mailing address and be fairly patient, since I would have to order some and then mail them to you. THis would be at absolutely no cost to you.

Does anyone know if it is not permitted to mail hinges to Sri Lanka? I can't imagine it would be.

That's the problem for us.

I only use hinges on used stamps myself, unless the value is greater then $10.
The new hinges peal off easy and are less $$$.
I rather spend on the stamps then mounting supplies.

Good collecting!
