Generally speaking the carmine vermilion is the Continental 1875 (Scott #180) and the scarlet vermilion is the American 1880 (Scott #203). You can learn more on determining these at this page.

Each one of us sees colors differently; women have more cones in their eyes and as such tend to determine colors a bit better than men. And then of course the ambient light can greatly influences how we see colors.
When we move to online images, we now have to consider how the image was generated. Users tend to 'improve' their images, either intentionally or unintentionally, by using 'features' in their software. This often introduces saturation and other color-influencing attributes which change what we are seeing. At other times the way the image file was saved can impact the colors in the image.
And even if the image was properly generated and saved, we still have to deal with the way the image appears on each of our screens. How something looks on our screens is greatly impacted by our computers, our computers video chip set, the firmware and software that is generating our screens, and finally the display monitor itself.
