Another nice find. Everytime I try to win those on ebay someone outbids me and pays too much for them....oh well one day I will have a set. |

Thanks Mike and that may have been me Sharksfan The #750 3c deep violet comes from a single plate NO.21303,there are 20 panes in a 4 X 5 format. The #751 1c green comes from a single plate NO.21341 it also carries 20 panes in a 4 X 5 format. both of these panes have to be researched for positions on the plate. |

Sometimes you have to pay more than you want to get what you want. I guess that's true for just about everything. In my case, coins especially. |

Nuggethill, Very nice sheets. I, too, had always wanted them and just in the last two weeks, I decided to splurge and get the two above and the 25-stamp Century of Progress sheets. They are just gorgeous.
Do you have the "biggie"? The one from the 1920s with 25 of the White Plains stamps? If and when I get that one, I will have completed the early 20th Century commemoratives. (Through 1940)
Nuggethill, I have a question concerning SS sheets and maybe you have the answer. The SS's were issued regularly and then were reissued as Farley's Follies". My question is how do you distinguish between an original used sheet and a used Farley's Follies sheet. Presumably if they are unused, the originals are gummed and the reprints are ungummed. But in used condition is distinguishing between them possible? |

G'Day all and thanks for the comments,
Rohumpy no I haven't brought the Scott # 630 as yet, will have to save the pennies for that one,now to answer your question I am no expert on these and what I tell you please take with a pinch of salt or I'm wrong more times than I'm right Scott #750 is 98mm X 93mm and the Scott #751 is 92mm X 99mm horizontal gutter to the next block is 20mm. Scott #769 and #770 the horizontal gutter between blocks is 23mm so there's a 1.5mm difference in the cut borders, now I'm only going on what I have learnt so if I'm wrong somebody will step in and straight it out regards Harry |
