If it is a #445, it is a Type 1.

A close examination of the toga button/rope area is suggested, reference link above.

edw, Two small corrections and a question: The stamp shown is perforated vertically, and it comes in Type I or Type II. There is no Type III among the 3 cent coils. I am completely mystified what you are using as a reference to attempt to identify your stamps, so I will ask. What book or internet site are you using? Knowing this will help us guide you through future IDs.

Let's back up to square 1.
It is obvious there is something you are missing or overlooking.
Please tell us the exact title and year of the reference you are using to try to ID this stamp?
(The thinking that it would be better in the long run if we teach you how to fish instead of giving you a fish today.)

I was trying to help, but it is clear you don't need it. Good luck on your own.

edw...The analogy John Becker is alluding to goes something like this;

"Give the man a fish and you will feed him for today. Teach the man to fish and you will feed him for life."

There is no attempt to be "bitter" or otherwise be disrespectful toward you. What is intended is that you can be helped in finding sources, reference material, catalogues etc. that will teach you how to determine what stamp issue and type you have. The question was appropriate; he asked what references you are currently using in a effort to be helpful. We've all be though the process of learning what sources to use and to self-determine what we have. Its a continuing journey...........
